Objective  of  Tanzania Police Force

To provide safety and security for people and property through preservation of the peace, maintenance of law and order, prevention and detection of crime, arrest and guarding of offenders and protection of property.

Functions

• To initiate and review policies and legislation with regard to public safety and security
• To formulate short, medium and long term development programmes aimed at curbing crime in the country
• To collaborate with the community in formulating crime prevention strategies and responses to crime
• Supervise all matters relating to safety and security in the country

To provide professional development of Police Officers .
